Twin
Twin is the novel that I have been working on since 2023, my largest passion project, and the thesis that I submitted for the Capstone Program in English at the University of Michigan. It explores the interconnected lives of two protagonists living a decade and a continent apart; the only catch being that they are the same person. In one story, Eli struggles with his faith, his family, and his (lack of) friends—in short, with the painful realities of childhood and adolescence. In another, Hannah deals with the detached ennui that once shielded her from the worst of her feelings, physical and mental separation from the past and her family, doomed relationships, and the hunt for a job and a way of life that doesn’t feel like it’s slowly killing her.
