Outside East Quad

The rough location at which this poem was written; from the University of Michigan’s maps.

Splayed on the stairs, legs
akimbo, arms resting on
concrete, eyes facing
gray ceiling and sky.

Corpse cured by the cold sun.
Snow-flakes of intricate lace
land on my tongue and melt
sweetness into sweat.

I feel alive again.
