THE FEET
Plantón
“Stand up for a second,” he tells the cameraman.
“Now imagine that, but for several hours.”
What he didn’t mention is that sometimes it would last days.
That sometimes we’d do our business on our own clothes.
(only sometimes, when we had clothes)
That sometimes the guards would say
“We should have made soap out of you,”
“We should have killed you in 1972,”
“Thank God you’re dead and I don’t have to keep hitting you,”
That every time, they would cover your head with a rag,
maybe so they wouldn’t feel guilt,
maybe so you’d suffer more.
“They did it all the time,”
he tells the cameraman.
